Here is a roundup of this week’s PE News and Star of the week.
Extra-curricular clubs started back as normal and have proved to be very popular again, KS3 boys football club continues to become more popular with lots of new faces on a weekly basis. This week we had 30 boys which was great to see considering the weather wasn’t great and it being our first week back. On Tuesday we also had girls Netball club, students are developing their skills and look forward to some more fixtures against other schools over the coming weeks.
On Wednesday we had Badminton club at school as well as a KS3 and KS4 Badminton competition away at Idsall School. The extra-curricular club is still one of our busiest clubs with a wide range of students from all year groups. Unfortunately we lost the competition although there were a few close games with several going to two clear points. A massive thanks to the teachers who allowed the KS4 students to be excused from intervention sessions. The students showed maturity and commitment by collecting work and doing this in their own time after the competition.
Due to consultation evening on Thursday we didn’t have any clubs, these will be back to normal next week.
This afternoon we have KS4 football club.
Please join us to celebrate the following students achievements within PE lessons and extra-curricular involvement. Their photos can be seen on the wall of fame in the PE corridor along with all other stars of the week.
We have another busy week next week with several fixtures and all normal extra-curricular clubs, these include: Year 9 Football vs Ercall Wood AWAY on Tuesday, KS3 and KS4 Badminton fixture on Wednesday against Telford Park School and then the Y7 boys football team travel away to play Thomas Adams in Wem on Thursday in the County Cup.
